DERYA DERMAN

JULIE KATZ
Adam Laupus grew up overseas in such countries as Malaysia, Singapore and Japan before moving to the United States. After receiving his B.F.A. in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts he began appearing on such TV show as Kings (starring Ian McShane), and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (starring Vincent D’Onofrio) and As The World Turns.  His first film debut as the leading character, A Decent Arrangement, notably starring opposite the legendary Indian actress, Shabana Azmi, is moving through the film festival circuit. His theatre credits include The Maiden’s Prayer, Woyzeck, The Battle of Spanktown, I’m Batman Bitch, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Henry VI Trilogy, The Underpants. He has been a member of the Brooklyn Soundpainting Company, a theatre ensemble working with a globally-developed gestural language to create theatre pieces through structured improvisation.  Naturally, he resides in Brooklyn.

 

JES LEVINE is a multi-disciplinary theater artist. She is a founding member of the Brooklyn Soundpainting Company (BSC) and has worked throughout the United States as a Stage Manager, Actor, Director, Playwright, and Designer. Recently: PURGE (Puhdistus) (LaMaMa and Actors Without Borders ITONY), Our Farm (Underground Arts in Philadelphia, The Tank, The Cherry Pit); Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land (The New School); Brass Ring (Brooklyn Soundpainting Company); 1940’s Radio Hour (New York Stage and Film); Authentic and The Custodian (Seven Devils Playwrights Conference); Dog and Wolf and Dog and Wolf Meets the Community (Watson Arts); Mouthful of Birds (Breedingground Productions); A Boy and His Soul (Thick Description); Mother Courage (Public Theater/NYSF); The Forgetting of Things (Centrifuge); Things Beyond Our Control (The Grid); Paradise Unzipped (Chaucer Theatre). She has written and performed 5 plays including Eco: Clowns Who Care; Body Talk; If I Had a Hammer…; Once Upon a Tuesday; and I Am Able!. Jes holds a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Playwrights Horizons Theater School.

 

MARK LINDBERG is a multidisciplinary theater artist originally from Massachusetts. Acting and dance credits include work with BSC (Brass Ring), The Nerve Tank (LIVE/FEED; company member), Built4Collapse (Hamlet, Romeo&Juliet), breedingground productions (A Mouthful of Birds), knife, inc. (Oph3lia - NY Innovative Theater Award nomination – Best Ensemble), and choreographers Becky Radway, Morgan Murphey, and Rachel Fachner-Sample. Directing credits include Romeo & Juliet (with Drew Cortese) and numerous original Soundpainting shows for The Powerhouse Apprentice Program with Vassar College/New York Stage & Film, including Dances at an Exhibition and Ruins (with Tomi Tsunoda). As a playwright, Mark’s work has been produced by EndTimes Productions (Kitchen Scenes with Nightmares -Winner – EndTimes Serling Award), Dreamscape Theatre, Hunger Artists (CA), and for the NY Int’l Fringe Festival (Self-Portrait As Schiele). Mark teaches Devised Theater and Creating Original Work for the Playwrights Horizons Theater School at NYU and teaches Movement for Actors and Soundpainting for Powerhouse/Vassar. B.F.A.: NYU/PHTS. Member of the international Soundpainting Think Tank since 2008.

MORGAN MURPHEY

TOMI TSUNODA is a multi-disciplinary artist. She teaches at NYU’s Playwrights Horizons Theatre School, Vassar College’s Powerhouse Apprentice Program, and was a Program Director for the Harlem Educational Activities Fund. Her writing has been published in Pindeldyboz and Dark Penguin, and she has worked with artists such as Gordon Dahlquist, Elizabeth Swados, Walter Thompson, and Estelle Parsons. Tomi was a co-founder of Director’s Eye, a board member of the Off-Off-Broadway Community Dish, and is the founder of both Brooklyn Soundpainting Company and Breedingground (where she’s helped develop over 100 projects since August 2000). She performs regularly as a singer, actor, and Soundpainter, and has been a member of the International Soundpainting ThinkTank since 1998.
